Trevon Diggs Scouting Report

"Well coached, long, CB that can run and make plays when he has the ball but lacks the feet & fluidity to regularly prevent separation and tackles like a kicker"

Strengths:

Well coached long CB that can run. Solid awareness and experience in the slot and outside. Man/zone adept. Has a nice little jab in press.

Good hands when he gets an opportunity and a playmaker with the ball in the open field. Also has return ability.

Weaknesses:

Lacks the feet & fluidity to regularly prevent separation. If his jam doesn't work he's generally in trouble in man. Fast but lacks a 2nd gear and catch up speed.

Consistently holds when he loses a step. Gets lost at the catch point and is especially vulnerable to back shoulder throws. Wrap only tackler that absolutely wants no smoke. Routinely dragged for extra yards.

Takes terrible angles when he actually tries to physically challenge the ball carrier.

Overall:

Best traits are his length, press potential and anticipation in zone. But he's regularly getting beat deep and short and he's as soft a tackler as they come right now. I think Diggs is generally overrated and will come off the board higher than he ought to.
