Lacks a second gear and struggles to recover. Lacks ideal twitch and can be slow out of his transitions. Not a playmaker.
Lacks sand and ideal technique as a tackler and often loses collisions.
Overall:
Emerson has ideal length and sound technique. He's as adept in man as he is playing off and flashes some pop as a tackler and as a tactile guy at the los.
The rub is that he struggles to hang with speed and hasn't been a playmaker. While he's loose hipped for his length, he's a step slow in his transitions and cod. He's a generally sound open field tackler and has the versatility to play safety with added strength.
