Justin Jefferson Scouting Report

"Clutch, hands catcher with length and elite elusiveness that punches above his weight and just lacks great top end speed"

Strengths:

Clutch, hands catcher with length and short area quickness. Regularly makes critical and contested catches. Fearless in traffic. Deceptive route runner and an elite stop/starter.

Solid burst out of his stance and in and out of his routes. Gets to top speed quickly and can get on top of DBs. Elusive after the catch. Angry run blocker that's productive.

  • Jefferson's a solid threat after the catch with his quickness and punch

  • He steps up to physical confrontations and can be a good run blocker

  • He uses that same physicality at the los vs the press

Weaknesses:

Physical, hands on corners can disrupt him early. Lacks top end speed. Not always an efficient mover.

Overall:

Jefferson's a clutch possession type receiver with deceptive speed and elite elusiveness. He tracks the ball well, is tough in traffic and is a dangerous guy after the catch. Surprisingly effective blocker that can bully DBs despite his frame.

If you're reaching for a knock it's that he's not a big time, explosive athlete. He won't flat out run away from guys or big boy anyone.
