Jaycee Horn Scouting Profile

"Has the technique, frame and athleticism to be a high level starter for a long time but he needs to be tactile to mirror effectively because his foot quickness and cod is lacking."

Strengths:

Long corner with sound technique and elite ball skills. Broad frame with long arms and excels at the catch point. Strong, quick hands and routinely gets onto the ball. Adequate athletic ability and can run with most guys. Cancels opponents when he can gets his hands on them.

Weaknesses:

Much better in press than playing off. Needs to be tactile to mirror effectively. Foot quickness and cod isn't ideal. Soft tackler that's often a liability.

Overall:

Horn has the technique, frame and athleticism to be a high level starter for a long time. He's aggressive in press and has the ball skills to cancel game plans from going in his direction.

His precision as a college standout effectively disguised his less than ideal high cut, short area agility. Good route runners can lose him right out the gate if they get past his crowding. Managing that line between tactile defending and drawing pi's will be crucial to his success. He's Jalen Mills or worse if he can't figure it out.
