Hunter Bryant Scouting Report

"A typical, undersized, athletic receiving TE with atypical aggressiveness and pop"

Strengths:

Big WR playing TE that excels in traffic and attacking 50/50 balls. Gets out the gate quickly with solid speed and builds it up as he goes.

Changes direction well. Generally strong hands. Quickly turns into a runner after the catch. Solid move blocker that really likes to tussle and has some pop.

  • Bryant's a legit threat down the seam and is sudden turning upfield after the catch

  • #1 Bryant is no George Kittle as an undersized blocker right now, but he's active and aggressive

Weaknesses:

Has the will as an inline blocker but not the size and gets rocked. Lacks subtlety in his routes. Lacks elusiveness after the catch.

Suffers concentration drops despite good hands. Suffered partially torn ACL in 2017 that required surgery in 2018.

Overall:

Hunter is a typical, athletic receiving TE with atypical aggressiveness and pop. Gets after it as a blocker and is productive on the move. Solid speed with a couple of gears and changes direction well.

Can make highlight reel, hands catches and regularly win contested balls. Lower body durability issues are valid given his history and play style but he checks boxes as a flex TE that can also pop guys around a little in the run game.
