Strengths:
Click & close guy zone with solid speed. Good sized CB that will fill vs the run. Fluid and can hang with most guys.
Heady facing the action and challenges at the catch point. Quick hands with solid bump & run potential.

Weaknesses:
Always injured. Not a playmaker. Balance isn't the greatest is on the ground a lot. Can struggle in man with his back to the ball. Can't hang with the fastest or the quickest guys and will hold or pi when he's threatened.
Overall:
Newsome showed well in flashes the past two seasons but has missed a ton of time with nagging ailments including ankle and groin injuries and never finished a complete season at Northwestern.
He's a good sized corner with impressive closing burst to the ball but he's not an elite athlete and can't hang with great athleticism. While he challenges the catch point well he's not shown good ball skills to make the play. He's got the size and willingness vs the run but isn't consistent breaking down in space and can let guys out.
