Dayo Odeyingbo Scouting Profile

"A bit of a freak with prototype traits for a 5 technique spot but his play commonly lacks a plan and he's coming off a major injury sustained in January."

Strengths:

Size, speed guy that flashes violent hands. Versatile, and physical upfront. Holds up vs the double when playing inside. Has burst and can run down guys in the open field.

Can bend well off the edge. Decent explosiveness off the snap and flashes an arm over occasionally. Great motor in this clip.

Weaknesses:

Doesn't know how to use his hands. Gets stuck on blocks without a plan. Awareness is raw. Lacks efficiency in his movements. Tore his Achilles just before senior week.

Overall:

Odeyingbo was a 5 tech predominately at Vandy and he's got prototype traits for the position. He's stout at the poa and has the burst and speed of an edge player. It's a plan that he lacks. He flashes violent hands but not near enough and is too often nullified at the los.

He can come off the ball with suddenness and power but doesn't sustain to be a consistent factor. Athletically he's a bit of a freak but he'll need to learn better technique to be efficient. Unfortunate Achilles injury just before senior week will likely cost him his rookie year and bash his draft stock.
