Clyde Edwards-Helaire Scouting Report

"Versatile weapon out of the backfield with elusiveness in tight spaces and adept contact balance but doesn't bring a lot of sand and generally doesn't run through anyone besides Trevon Diggs"

Strengths:

Shifty and quick in and out of the hole. Elusive in tight spaces and can string moves together. Hands catcher and a solid receiver out of the backfield. Adept contact balance and can be a chore to bring down. Runs to daylight with effective vision.

Weaknesses:

Just adequate burst. Inconsistent in pass pro. Feet don't stop but he's not a people mover. Lacks great breakaway speed. One year wonder.

Overall:

CEH is a versatile weapon out of the backfield with quick feet, hands and experience opening up in the flats as a receiver. He darts through the hole with elusiveness and change of direction as a runner. That said, he doesn't bring a lot of sand with him and generally doesn't run through anyone besides Trevon Diggs. Despite his experience in pass pro he's less effective than you'd expect there.
