Great quickness and speed with a hard nosed mentality. Slow plays with confidence to recover. Angry tackler that flies to the ball and will strike.
Can mirror with great lateral mobility. Challenges in the air with good extension, timing and ball skills. Impressive click & close. Punishes blockers with a strong punch. Dangerous return ability.
Weaknesses:
Lacks anticipation and a good route runner will lose him late. Looks to strike as a tackler and rarely wraps up. One year wonder with little experience. Originally a Tar Heel but transferred for personal reasons following a suspension from the team and arrest.

Hughes is a powerful 5’10 corner with elite lateral quickness and good speed. He's a potentially dominant man press corner with his quickness and physicality. His lack of experience shows at times in his recognition and technique but his tools are 1st round caliber.
He's also a lethal returner with good vision and elusiveness. He's a better prospect than than last year's Adoree Jackson albeit with more risk because there's less tape and he doesn't have the same pure speed.
