Week 3 Standouts

Playmakers at all three levels of the defense headline this week's performers, including a CB#1 candidate from Texas. Kris Boyd, CB, Texas Boyd has always looked the part and thus far this year is unquestionably playing the part of a top end CB prospect. Prototype size and athleticism, Boyd's showing few weaknesses and could be a high riser come April. Sione Takitaki, LB, BYU The Cougars dismantled the heralded Badger offense and DE convert Takitaki was all over the ball amassing 13 tackles, 2 TFL and a sack. He's transitioned to playing in space like he was made for it and is one to watch for. Dre'Mont Jones, DT, Ohio St Jones and Bosa are cleaning up so far this year but Jones stepped up w

Week 2 Standouts

Quarterbacks showed out week 2, with quite a few breakout performers but we're highlighting an unheralded interior Sun Devil. Renell Wren, DT, Arizona St Wren first jumped out on tape to me last year when, lined at NT, he chased down a ballcarrier 40yds downfield. Week 2 vs Michigan St he jumped off the los again and again, proving way too much for their interior to handle. Final stats were modest but Wren wrecked them all game. Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M Mond isn't draft eligible this year as a true sophomore but had a big time coming out game vs one of the most heralded defenses in the nation. Always possessing athletic tools and talent, Mond was more precise in this one finishing with 430

Week 1 Standouts

Some say it's too early to overreact to college football's week 1 in the books.....nonsense! From the scouting perspective there were a number of breakout performances week 1 that are worthy of book marking. J.J. Arcega Whiteside, WR, Stanford Whiteside kept it rolling from last season and offered up his trademark dominating 50/50 ballskills to almost singlehandedly pull Stanford away from SDST. He finished with 6 - 226 and 3TDs. Whiteside reminds me of a slower Mike Evans. If he continues at this pace for 2 seasons straight he'll become a coveted guy in April. Jordan Love, QB, Utah St Love was arguably the best player on the field vs Michigan St week 1 and very nearly pulled out the upset
